Awards and Honours
Once called “the most popular children’s singer in the English-speaking world” (Washington Post) and “Canada’s all-time children’s champion” (Toronto Star), Raffi is a recipient of the Order of Canada, Canada’s highest civilian honour, and the United Nations’ Earth Achievement Award.
In 2018, First Call, the child and youth advocacy coalition, awarded him the Champion of Child & Youth Rights Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership and commitment in standing up for children, youth and families. He has received four honorary degrees: Dr. of Music from the University of Victoria, Dr. of Letters from the University of British Columbia, Dr. of Letters from Ontario’s Wilfrid Laurier University, and Dr. of Letters from Vancouver Island University.
